2019-20 EHHS Bell Schedule(s)


East Hartford Public Schools Department of Student Transportation Services will provide student transportation, under provisions of state law and regulation, under contract, for all students who qualify for such service. The walking distance for the student is in excess of the guidelines established from time-to-time by the Board which shall not exceed the following maximum distances or whatever other maximum distance limits are set by the State Board of Education. In general, students will be eligible for school transportation if one or more of the following criteria is present and remains uncorrected by the Board:

  1. Elementary School students (K-6) walk up to one mile
  2. Middle School students walk up to one and one-half miles
  3. High School students walk up to two miles
  4. Special Education and medically fragile students who qualify for bus transportation.

If you have moved and have not changed your address with the Central Registration Department, the bus will not be able to transport your child to school.  For all changes, please call the Transportation Coordinator, (see below)

What's New at EHHS

Electronic Device Policy
Reminder, the school policy for electronic devices includes a no-tolerance policy for wearing earbuds or utilizing his/her cell phone for personal reasons during the school day.   Students, however, are permitted to utilize electronic devices solely at the teachers discretion where enrichment and learning is the first priority.  School administrators have policies and consequences in place to support a scholarly environment at EHHS. 

Interim, Coordinator of Athletics
Mr. Matthew Martucci will be leading the athletic department to start the 19-20 athletic school year.  Mr. Martucci will be in an out of the office this summer and if you need to contact him the best way to do this is via email.  Please do not hesitate to contact him if you have any questions about EHHS athletics.

Of note, Mrs. Bernard will be assuming her responsibilities as the Coordinator of Athletics in October.  

Gold Card
In order to play for an athletic team at EHHS all students must complete the requirements to play and/or tryout.  Students must have an updated physical and parent permission form completed.  Once this information has been turned in and signed off by the Athletic Department a GOLD CARD will be completed and distributed to the student.  Students need to present the GOLD CARD to the coach prior to any activity.  NO GOLD CARD, NO PLAY!!!

First Day of School

The first day of school is August 28th  and the staff at EHHS is ready for a terrific school year.  Additionally, the custodial staff has been working tirelessly to get the building ready for day one.  Improvements include new classroom designs, signage, a renovated courtyard outside the school cafeteria as well as improvements to the athletic facilities.  

Upon entering the school on August 28, students will be expected to report to the school wide Welcoming Assembly prior to the 7:30am bell.  The following grade levels are expected to report to the assigned areas listed below:

Freshman report to the Auditorium
Sophomores report to the Cafeteria
Juniors  report to the Front Gymnasium
Seniors report to the Track (outside)

During the assembly, students will be given the LIST packet including Locker information, student ID's, school schedule information and teacher information.
